Statement of Faith

On Important Doctrinal Issues
  • We believe that the inherent Holy Scriptures are the verbally inspired Word of God, and are the final source in all matters, including scientific and historical, relating to faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
  • We believe that the one true God is revealed through the Scriptures as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God has manifested Himself to mankind in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 48:16; Matthew 28:19; John 14:15-23; 15:26; 16:7-15; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 1:1-3)
  • We believe that man was created good and in the image of God but through voluntary transgression is lost and spiritually dead. (Genesis 1:27; 2:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Romans 3:9-10)
  • We believe all have sinned, and that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer, die and be resurrected on the third day as the perfect sacrifice that all might obtain redemption through Him from sin and sickness. (Isaiah 53:3-12; I Peter 2:21-25)
  • We believe that the salvation of sinners by grace may be obtained only through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing the sinner can do to save himself–only repent and call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:10-24; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • We believe in eternal life (Heaven) for believers (John 5:24; 3:16) and eternal punishment (Hell) for unbelievers. (Mark 9:43-48; 2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 20:10-15)
  • We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels. (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10-15)
  • We believe that honest repentance and faith in Christ Jesus will produce a sanctified vessel and separation from the world of sin. (2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; 5:23)
  • We believe in the literal, bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth again. He will return from heaven in great glory and power, climaxing this age with judgment on the ungodly and the resurrection and translation of the righteous. (Matthew 16:27; 24:30; Acts 3:20; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8; 2:8; Jude 14-15; Revelation 1:7)
  • We believe in water baptism by immersion as commanded in the Scriptures for all who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; 10:48; Romans 6:4)
  • We believe in “The Baptism with the Holy Spirit” as a definite experience given to believers, and that it is evidenced immediately by the believer speaking in “tongues” or languages which he has never learned. (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 1:5; 11:16)
  • We believe in miracles and in supernatural endowments (gifts) by the Holy Spirit upon the Church today. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
  • We believe in the same five-fold ministries for the Church today that existed in the early New Testament Church–Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor & Teacher. (Ephesians 4:7-16)
  • We believe that a Christian may receive spiritual help and direction by the laying on of hands and impartation from those who are qualified and anointed to so minister. (Mark 16:18; Acts 8:17; 19:1-7; Romans 1:11; 1 Timothy 4:14-15; Hebrews 6:2)
  • We believe in New Testament order and organization for the local church and in the authority of indigenous church government. (Acts 6:1-7; 1 Timothy 3:1-15; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
  • We believe that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage of one woman and one man. Hence, sexual activities, such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, pedophilia and bestiality are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the Church. Further, lascivious behavior, the creation and/or distribution and/or viewing of pornography, and efforts to alter one’s gender are incompatible with the biblical witness. (Gen. 19:1-11; Lev. 18; Rom. 1:18-32; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 6:9-20; Eph. 4:1-11; 5:3-5; 1 Thess. 4:3-8; 1 Tim. 4:12; 2 Tim. 2:19-22; 1 Peter 1:13-26; 1 John 3:1-3)
